Better late than never

So as a continuing post to my first few. I finally finished one of the pink and black hand warmers that I was working on. The first attempt resulted in one that wouldn't close around my hand and was extreamly loose on my arm (this was a result of having measured too far down my arm to begin with). The second version fitted well up through my wrist but flaired too much after that, resulting in a bulge at my thumb (very unbecoming) and a side that extended a good three inches beyond my hand. The reasoning for this was the loss of my tape measure. The third time was not the charm unfortunatly and while it fitted comfortable it still had that annoying bulge, so I ripped it apart to the wrist and restarted. Thankfully the third and a half time proved fruitful and and I managed to get it right.

Suggestions for people attempting this (I'll post specific directions later)

Make sure you have your tape measure
Try and get someone else to help you measure your arms (it's hard to do by yourself!)
Make sure you have enough space for your thumb when you make the hole or the whole thing will be uncomfortable

And that is all for that piece tonight!

The only other thing I've been working on was a two colored 12 by 12 square for a rainbow blanket. It's about a fourth of a way done but should take too much longer now that the hand warmer is done.

I also recently bought four very beautiful scanes of ribbon yarn. The colors are so fantastic, the only problem that I for see with them is what to make. A scarf just wouldn't be enough to justify the beauty of the colors, but sadly it's really expensive stuff and making something like blanket just seems out of my budget. Once I figure out what to make with them things will be good!

  1. What about a bag/purse or leg warmers or another pair of arm warmers? you so need to get that camera so i can see the yarn

  2. A purse maybe but leg warmers wouldn't work with this kind of yarn. In fact thinking about it now I don't think a purse would would either, it would be to thin looking.
